Holiday Indulgence, HCG and Quick Weight Loss Methods

It’s that time of the year again. A time of festivities and yes, of food – and lots and lots of it, mind you. From Christmas to New Year and all other gatherings in between, it can be quite hard to not give in to that oh so sweet temptation. I, for one, a normally disciplined eater, can’t help but get an extra helping of that sinful roasted pig or an extra slice of my favorite blueberry cheesecake.

The eating part is undeniably fun. But after all the festivities are over, what usually comes next is dread and sometimes, panic. Will my pants still fit? Have I gained weight? How can I shed the extra pounds? These are just some of hundreds of questions that run through my head. I am pretty sure that you find yourself thinking along these same lines as well.

I have a relatively good lifestyle. I do not go to the gym everyday but I eat healthy and I exercise every so often. What is more is that I have a pretty good metabolism rate. So the holiday indulgence is not really much of a problem for me. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said to everyone else. And sometimes, other people would resort to incredible measures; trying one method after the other in their desperate attempt at weight loss.

One of the diet regimens that is currently making wave is the usage of HCG or human chorionic gonadotropin. HCG is actually a hormone found in the urine of pregnant women. Theoretically, it is suppose to suppress hunger and trigger the use of the body fat for fuel. Although an impressive idea, the scientific evidence for its plausibility is quite lacking making it such a huge gamble.

There are other quick weight loss plans that people can choose from. However, just like the method mentioned, there are certain risks that comes with it. When it comes to ways of losing weight, there will always be pros and cons that come with it. If there is one thing that remains certain, it is the fact that the road to that desired weight is through healthy eating habits and exercise. There isn’t really any quick fix. And this is something that all people should keep in mind.
