Buy Blog Comments business
Yes it is…The fact that there are a lot of ways on how to earn thru the internet, this site above is one way to do it. The site is a business where you buy a package of blog comments for your blog. It seems to be legal, for whitehatters that is, but as far as SEO is concerned, I think i’m quite skeptical about the effect of blog comments on how this could actually help the website ranking in SERPS. This might give an impression on the click visits on your blog but I think this would not give any weight on how the weblog would rank on the SERPS.

The fact that rel=”nofollow” tag is widely used on blog comments link so that commenters’ website will not get any weight in the serps, I think guys from BBC(BuyBlogComments) should look into this. I mean, think of it, if you buy their package deals let’s say package 1, 100 blog comments, I believe it’s just like acquiring 100 visitor clicks from a 3rd party, self-proclaimed traffic provider websites, just like TrafficSwarm. I actually have experience with this kind of sites, but it made me realize that it was not worth when the time my adsense check was about to be released, I got an email from the Adsense team saying that one of my websites has illegally acquired visitor clicks from a 3rd party software and that I should stopped the use of it or else I would be penalized. I still have to study about this blog comment buying to see the pros and cons about it. I might be wrong about this that’s why I sure wanna hear feedbacks from the SEO gurus out there. \m/^_^

Club Penguin Website
And they say that kids site was not a good niche…Well, three fathers from British Columbia proved them wrong. These daddies got $350 million from Disney plus another $350 million if the site hits performace targets the next 2 years.

I found out about this from a post by martinibuster of webmasterworld when I was browsing the forum. Disney acquired a subscription Web site aimed at preteenagers, Club Penguin, in a deal that could total $700 million.
==================
From New York Times:
“More than 700,000 users now pay $5.95 a month to customize penguin characters and then chat and play games with other “penguins.

And Disney has agreed to pay the founders, three fathers based in Kelowna, British Columbia, up to $350 million more by the end of 2009 if the site meets growth targets. “They could earn all of it or none of it,” said Thomas O. Staggs, Disney’s chief financial officer. “The growth they have to achieve is attractive enough that we would be pleased to pay.”
==================

But another thing to be amazed of is what martinibuster mentioned on his post, that the site doesn’t seem to be promoted using keywords. I personally checked the code for the website and it doesn’t have any meta tags at all. No on-page optimization alright. Just a website. They seem to promote it by word of mouth and to their demographic. Good old marketing.

I wonder if that works if I actually try that here in my country…

Alexa Ranking Toolbar…

I’m afraid that is true…Just like what I read on webmasterworld.com, Alexa ranking bar is completely useless. It’s 0% in telling you anything about your genuine visitors. The fact that they include YOUR visits on their statistics, without even checking if it’s the same IP, all a webmaster would have to do is to visit his/her website everyday and you got a boost of traffic. I’m wondering what is Alexa’s take on  this?…Hmmm…

Text-link-ads, evil???As part of my daily routine, I am to log in on one of my seo forums online…and I have read a post that actually made my eye brows meet…It was about the event WordCamp 2007, and one of the members in the forum, actually had the chance to participate on that event. This was Rickey of www.rickey.org, I’m assuming he’s a filipino too just like me. As I was reading his article , he mentioned there that he met up with Matt Cutts, but what really got me suprised was Matt telling him that Text-Link-Ads are evil and one of these days Google will penalize such sites which engage in Page Rank link buying and selling.

Wtf? That was my initial reaction…although I am really not earning that much from TLA, but penalizing them, why?…how true is this?….If Google’s gonna do that, a lot of other websites would be affected coz I know a lot of websites that deals with link buying and selling, not to mention that I got some friends working with these companies.

Is this how Google react with their competitors on the internet marketing industry or should I say this is how Google react to a possible threat to them for success? If this gonna happen, I’m expecting a massive revolt about the issue. What you think guys?

Tabby, Aileen Apolo and Mr. Jonas of Yehey
Alright it took me so long to post this coz its been like hell-a-busy with work, tons of updates and reports to finish, and also I have to trancribe the interview from the video we had(hehe, mahirap pala maging transcriptionist). Anyways, here is our meeting with Ms.Aileen (Google Philippines Country Consultant) and Mr. Jonas (Yehey! eCommerce Manager). We conducted a short interview about what the GPCC — Ms.Aileen Apolo thinks about CDO. Here is our interview:

 Aileen Apolo Meeting

Q: How do you find CDO?

A: It’s great! I’ve always wanted to come back here, and it’s like last year when I was here i went white water rafting with friends from the Yellow Pages. I did it all. They say so they’ve never come back here. Pero sabi ko nga at least within 3 years I’l come back to CDO. I never thought na I’l be back here this year. Hinanap pa namin ung pastel kanina.(giggles)

Q: Candidly, what are the things you hate in CDO?(ung totoo ha)

A: MAinit!

Q: Sa Manila, indi bah?

A: It’s hotter here. The air is dry, unlike in Manila it’s not that hot actually. Like I go out here during lunchtime kanina, masyadong mainit, iba ung….mainit!….Tsaka I got sunburn last year, naging third degree burn cya.(laughs)

Q: Are you keen on tasting ostrich meat?

A: Why not?

Q: How do you see CDO as an IT player?

A: I was really suprise when Michael Turner turn up during the beercon of seophilippines last October. He said that he has an IT company here in CDO. I think its growing especially with XU which has a very active computer science dept. The IT here is growing. It’s growing.

Q: AT least for CDO, what in your opinion, are the factors that propel IT business?

A: I think one will be education, so universtites should like concentrate in making a good curriculum always to keep it updated. Keeping it up to date on what is needed by the industry. Kasi when you have that one, when you have the talents, im sure bigger businesses will go here.Ganun un eh its like, in manila the schools there talagang up to date yung mga curriculum nila when it comes to IT becaues they think its very important and that’s one way of really propelling things. And last of course support from people in the industry, around maging internet man cya, software, programming or whatever and of course the government, the initiatives that they take, Thats very important!.

Q: Do you have or do you know of any IT program that can assist struggling IT companies, specifically those based in promising urban centers like CDO?

A: It’s quite a lot. It’s all online. It’s all online, search in google.com/jobs.(hehe)

Q: And ito na ang pinaka matinding question and im sure inaabang lahat to ng fans ni Miss Aileen and nasasayo lang to Ms.Aileen if you want to answer it or not, and the question is………how young is Miss Aileen?

A: Oh my God..(laughs for a minute)..tinanong din sa akin yan di last time, and i got so scared..Well, Im old enough. That’s all i can say.(hehehe)

Q: If you would have a message for the Google founders, what would it be?

A: Baka pagalitan ako ng PR namin(giggles). I would like to say thank you of course for the oppurtunity, I never expected it. It was a loooong(giggles) journey, before I signed. It was long. I’d just like to thank them for the oppurtunity, to be of service to them, to be the Country consultant. And ano pa bah??….ah my kuya always told me “you found somebody to fund your hobby”. Im really having the time of my life. That’s the best part!.(laughs)

That’s all folks! After we had dinner the two went off already coz they still have a meeting with DigitalFilipino guys. It’s been a pleasure meeting big-time fellowfilipinos bringing glory to our country. Mabuhay kayo! Mabuhay ang Filipino! \m/^_^\m/
