George Hotz from New Jersey sure has a bright future with gadgets. The famous iPhone locked at AT&T’s network was unlocked by him and actually was using it on T-Mobile’s network.

Quote in GlobeInvestor.com
“The hack, which Mr. Hotz posted Thursday to his blog, is complicated and requires skill with both soldering and software. It takes about two hours to perform. Since the details are public, it seems likely that a small industry may spring up to buy U.S. iPhones, unlock them and send them overseas.”

Now since iPhones would still be released here in the Philippines next year, I’m assuming by that time all iPhones would be unlocked. I hope Apple would just start making partners overseas to market their iPhones now! as in now!..I mean I don’t understand why Apple likes teasing people especially those outside the US..dont they want money?

As I was browsing channels on our TV yesterday, my attention was caught when GMA 7’s Mel & Joey talk show featured a topic about how blogging would be an alternative way of earning income.
Mel and Joey Talk show
I was anxious to know who will they interview about the topic. First I thought it would be Marc Macalua of SEO Philippines coz he really should be famous about all this online revenue generation thing since he’s the founder. I also thought GMA 7 would have a word with Google Philippines representative, Aileen Apolo, to give insights about the matter. And to my suprise, it was Abe Olandres talking about the topic.
Abe Olandres of Yugatech
He enlightened people on how they actually could earn online thru blogging, I was pretty excited if he would spill the beans of how he actually earns online, but he was pretty safe on discussing the matter. He talked about how getting traffic would help a person earn online, about being a publisher of advertisements and they showed a couple of images showing affiliate programs like Text-Link-Ads and others, but I think they didn’t show any Google adsense footages there. I’m not sure. Abe blog about this here. He also have welcome notes from Mel & Joey here.

J. Angelo Racoma was interviewed too, he talked about how he learned about “problogging” as a corporate blogger and on how a blog could earn $1000-5000/month.

It’s really great knowing fellow filipinos do excel in the latest trend in I.T. today. It gives me that pride that Filipinos would always be competitive in any field. Mabuhay kayo mga pinoy bloggers! \m/^_^

Buy Blog Comments business
Yes it is…The fact that there are a lot of ways on how to earn thru the internet, this site above is one way to do it. The site is a business where you buy a package of blog comments for your blog. It seems to be legal, for whitehatters that is, but as far as SEO is concerned, I think i’m quite skeptical about the effect of blog comments on how this could actually help the website ranking in SERPS. This might give an impression on the click visits on your blog but I think this would not give any weight on how the weblog would rank on the SERPS.

The fact that rel=”nofollow” tag is widely used on blog comments link so that commenters’ website will not get any weight in the serps, I think guys from BBC(BuyBlogComments) should look into this. I mean, think of it, if you buy their package deals let’s say package 1, 100 blog comments, I believe it’s just like acquiring 100 visitor clicks from a 3rd party, self-proclaimed traffic provider websites, just like TrafficSwarm. I actually have experience with this kind of sites, but it made me realize that it was not worth when the time my adsense check was about to be released, I got an email from the Adsense team saying that one of my websites has illegally acquired visitor clicks from a 3rd party software and that I should stopped the use of it or else I would be penalized. I still have to study about this blog comment buying to see the pros and cons about it. I might be wrong about this that’s why I sure wanna hear feedbacks from the SEO gurus out there. \m/^_^

Club Penguin Website
And they say that kids site was not a good niche…Well, three fathers from British Columbia proved them wrong. These daddies got $350 million from Disney plus another $350 million if the site hits performace targets the next 2 years.

I found out about this from a post by martinibuster of webmasterworld when I was browsing the forum. Disney acquired a subscription Web site aimed at preteenagers, Club Penguin, in a deal that could total $700 million.
==================
From New York Times:
“More than 700,000 users now pay $5.95 a month to customize penguin characters and then chat and play games with other “penguins.

And Disney has agreed to pay the founders, three fathers based in Kelowna, British Columbia, up to $350 million more by the end of 2009 if the site meets growth targets. “They could earn all of it or none of it,” said Thomas O. Staggs, Disney’s chief financial officer. “The growth they have to achieve is attractive enough that we would be pleased to pay.”
==================

But another thing to be amazed of is what martinibuster mentioned on his post, that the site doesn’t seem to be promoted using keywords. I personally checked the code for the website and it doesn’t have any meta tags at all. No on-page optimization alright. Just a website. They seem to promote it by word of mouth and to their demographic. Good old marketing.

I wonder if that works if I actually try that here in my country…

This has to be one of the craziest video dubbed out there by our fellow filipinos…Although I don’t understand Ilonggo…this is just hilarious. Can somebody translate this in bisaya?? \m/^_^
